Rudy strives for excellence in all of his work, and for this reason he believes that a taxidermist should continue to learn and always work on perfecting his craft. Rudy believes that learning only occurs when one continues to push himself beyond what he already knows, and he demonstrates this commitment to life-long learning by attending numerous State, Regional,  National, and World Taxidermy conventions and workshops each year so that he can remain abreast of the newest techniques and skills used in recreating wildlife artistry.   Although running the studio demands a great deal of his time, Rudy enjoys competing at the State, Regional, National, and World levels of taxidermy competition.  He thrives off the excitement of competition and the chance to learn and improve the level of his work.  Rudy’s hard work and dedication to the art of taxidermy has earned him numerous awards and recognitions at the State, Regional, National and World levels of competition.  Some of these awards include:   

 

    • He was a recipient of the National “Award of Excellence”
    • Placed second in Texas’ Best All Around Taxidermist in both 2005 and 2007.
    • Competed and won four ribbons at the World Taxidermist Competitions at Springfield, Illinois in 2005 and at Reno, Nevada in 2007.
    • Earned seven Starfish Awards for “Best Replica Fish”
    • Earned three Texas Lifetone Awards for “Highest Scoring Fish”
    • Earned two Texas “Best of Category” in the Reptile Division
    • Earned two Louisiana “Best of Category” awards
    • Earned an Oklahoma “Best of Category” award
    • Earned a “Best of Category” at the Southern Regional Competition
    • Earned two Mississippi “Best of Category” awards
