Rudy strives for excellence in all of his work, and for this reason he believes that a taxidermist should continue to learn and always work on perfecting his craft. Rudy believes that learning only occurs when one continues to push himself beyond what he already knows, and he demonstrates this commitment to life-long learning by attending numerous State, Regional, National, and World Taxidermy conventions and workshops each year so that he can remain abreast of the newest techniques and skills used in recreating wildlife artistry. Although running the studio demands a great deal of his time, Rudy enjoys competing at the State, Regional, National, and World levels of taxidermy competition. He thrives off the excitement of competition and the chance to learn and improve the level of his work.
